3 CSSC Peric Hydrogen ALK + PEM (CSSC 718th Research Institute) 374.05 MW (FY2025) Orange notes data unverified; ranked first in GGII's 2024 shipment scope Orange Hydrogen DB
4 LONGi Hydrogen ALK (large-capacity alkaline electrolyzers) 248 MW (FY2025) H2 Portal's public-tender scope shows 205 MW Orange Hydrogen DB
5 Shuangliang Hydrogen ALK (Shuangliang Eco-Energy subsidiary) 186 MW (FY2025) Orange notes: counting the 360 MW Fuhai project would lift it to 546 MW and first place Orange Hydrogen DB
6 Qingqiji (青骐骥) ALK 165.51 MW (FY2025) A GGII 2024 shipment top-ten company Orange Hydrogen DB
7 CRRC Zhuzhou Institute ALK (with in-house hydrogen power supplies) 164.5 MW (FY2025) A TrendBank Jan–Sep 2025 public-tender top-five company Orange Hydrogen DB
8 SANY Hydrogen ALK (1,000–3,000 Nm³/h alkaline electrolyzers) 149 MW (FY2025) Matches H2 Portal's public-tender scope; TrendBank shows 229 MW through September Orange Hydrogen DB
9 Guofu Hydrogen (国富氢能) ALK (hydrogen storage/transport equipment maker expanding upstream) 135.6 MW (FY2025) Orange Hydrogen DB
10 Beijing Guoneng Longwei (北京国能龙威) Technology route undisclosed 110 MW (FY2025) Orange notes data unverified Orange Hydrogen DB

Data sources

  • Orange Hydrogen Database (香橙会) 135 public tender projects in 2025; 6,054.96 MW electrolyzer demand, +155.59% vs 2024; 5,117.41 MW awarded (incl. direct contracts) primary ranking basis — orders, not shipments
  • H2 Portal (氢能汇) awarded + contracted + delivered scope; ranks Yijingxing first at 1,120 MW (owner-affiliated self-supply)
  • TrendBank (势银) public procurement awards scope
  • GGII (高工氢电) shipment scope; 2025 shipment top ten not yet published as of July 2026

Institutions differ in scope and methodology; figures from different sources must not be combined when computing market share.

Questions & answers

Which institution's data does this ranking use?

The main table follows the Orange Hydrogen Database (Orange Society Research Institute), based on 2025 full-year public tenders for water-electrolysis hydrogen equipment in China (including direct contracts), published January 2026 — cross-referenced against H2 Portal, TrendBank, and GGII.

Who ranked first in 2025 electrolyzer orders?

Sungrow Hydrogen (433.7 MW) in the Orange main-table scope. But Orange notes that counting Shuangliang Hydrogen's 360 MW Fuhai County award would lift Shuangliang to 546 MW and first place, and in H2 Portal's scope (awarded + contracted + delivered) Yijingxing leads at 1,120 MW.

Why do institutions' electrolyzer rankings differ?

Scopes differ: Orange counts public tenders (incl. direct contracts), H2 Portal counts awarded plus contracted plus delivered, TrendBank counts public procurement awards; treatment of overseas orders and owner-affiliated self-supply also differs. The same company can differ by multiples (Sungrow Hydrogen: 433.7 MW vs 156 MW).

Which technology route dominated 2025?

Alkaline (ALK), overwhelmingly: 96.67% of disclosed-route tender volume in Orange's scope (5,307.775 MW) and 91.13% of H2 Portal's order scope; PEM and AEM together were under 4%.

Why isn't the 1,120 MW Yijingxing order in the main table?

It supplies the Inner Mongolia 800 kt/yr green hydrogen-ammonia plant (phase one: 56 modular 2,000 Nm³/h alkaline electrolyzers; ~1,120 MW across two phases) through the project owner's wholly-owned subsidiary — owner-affiliated self-supply. H2 Portal ranks it first for 2025; Orange's public-tender table excludes it.

Where did electrolyzer prices land in 2025?

Per Century New Energy Network's full-2025 statistics (published January 2026), alkaline electrolyzer winning bids went as low as RMB 416/kW, with mainstream unit prices at roughly RMB 600–1,300/kW and complete systems at RMB 5–7M — below 2024's ~RMB 6.5M average.
